Another day another shooting in Chicago.
A 16-year-old boy shot during a West Englewood robbery was one of at least 7 people shot Tuesday evening into this morning according to police.
About 7:53 p.m., several male assailants (all blacks) approached the 16-year-old as he rode his bike down the 1800 block of West 71st. Street, said Chicago Police News affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
The group demanded the boy’s bicycle, and when he tried to ride away, someone pulled out a gun and fired several times, Zala said.
The teen sustained gunshot wounds to the thigh and buttocks and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized.
The assailants fled with the bicycle and have not been taken into custody. Good luck with that.
The other 6 shootings are more of the same, I really don’t see the need to report on them. Just pray for the people of Chicago.
Embattled Internal Revenue Service Official Lois Lerner and an attorney in the Federal Election Commission’s general counsel’s office appear to have twice colluded to influence to record before the FEC’s vote in the case of a conservative non-profit organization, acceding to e-mails unearthed by the House Ways and Means Committee and obtained exclusively by National Review Online. The correspondence suggest the discrimination of conservative groups extended beyond the IRS and into the FEC, where an attorney from the agency’s enforcement division in at least one case sought and received tax information about the status of a conservative group, the American Future Fund, before recommending that the commission prosecute it for violations of campaign-finance law. Lerner, the former head of the IRS’s exempt-organizations division, worked at the FEC from 1986 to 1995, and was known for aggressive investigation conservative groups during her tenure there, too.
What are we waiting for? Let’s put Lois Lerner behind bars where she belongs. Wake up America! It’s now or never.
OBAMANOMICS: The president has been decrying the growing gap- between rich and poor in the U.S. to help sell his retread tax-and-spend proposals. But This growing inequality is morally wrong.” he said, and “undermines the very essence of America.
To be sure, income inequality is a standard trope for liberals, who always use it to advocate more wealth redistribution.
And Obama’s latest focus neatly coincides with his plans to push for more federal spending and taxes on the “rich” in coming budget battles.
But what Obama conveniently leaves out of his sermons is that income inequality has grown faster on his watch than any time in the past two decades, at least.
