McCain to Hispanic Chamber of Commerce: I’ll Fight for Amnesty as Long as ‘I’m Alive and Breathing’

In remarks to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) vowed to fight for amnesty as long as he is a breathing United States Senator.

McCain, according to BuzzFeed, also said that if comprehensive immigration reform passes, he would “make sure it is forever called the Edward M. Kennedy immigration bill.” McCain and the late Kennedy tried to pass the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill last decade, along with President George W. Bush. Conservatives halted the measure because it would have reduced the wages of American workers while not solving the illegal immigration problem.

The high-tech lobby, the Chamber of Commerce, and the same groups that wanted amnesty then are redoubling their efforts this year, which amnesty advocates like Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) have said may be the last chance for such legislation.

McCain’s former immigration aide, Becky Tallent, is now House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) top aide on immigration. Boehner has said that he and President Barack Obama want to get immigration reform legislation “done” this year.

Other speakers throughout the week at Hispanic Chamber of Commerce events included Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), who said that amnesty legislation was inevitable, and Vice President Joe Biden, who stated that he believed illegal immigrants were “already American citizens.”

Last year, McCain vowed that amnesty advocates would try to get comprehensive immigration reform through Congress after the GOP primaries in 2014. That window seems to be somewhere in the next three months. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that if amnesty legislation passes this year, it would pass by June.

Why is Obama Admin Spending $400K on a Camel Sculpture in Pakistan?

Why is Obama Admin Spending $400K on a Camel Sculpture in Pakistan?

And Democrats deny that they have a spending problem…

Even though President Obama and his team routinely cozy up to the poor in an effort to appear as crusaders for the underclass, the president simply refuses to practice what he preaches. With extravagances more befitting a monarch than a president, President Obama and his family love lavish vacations and hosting extravagant parties with top celebrities.

Meanwhile, the White House remains shuttered from the public because the Obama Administration maintains that allowing tours would be too costly.

From websites that won’t work to billions of dollars being pumped to countries that hate us, President Obama is not only concerned with spending on himself, he loves to spend our money on a wide variety of things that remain useless to Americans.

Take, for example, the recent expenditure by the Obama Administration: a giant $400,000 sculpture of a camel staring at a needle.

Because it would be crazy to put that money towards, I don’t know, paying down the national debt?…

According to BuzzFeed:

The State Department is planning to spend $400,000 in taxpayer funds to buy a sculpture for the new American embassy being built in Islamabad, Pakistan, according to contracting records.

The work, by noted American artist John Baldessari, depicts a life-size white camel made of fiberglass staring in puzzlement at the eye of an oversize shiny needle — a not-so-subtle play on the New Testament phrase about the difficulty the wealthy have in entering the kingdom of heaven.

Officials explained the decision to purchase the piece of art, titled “Camel Contemplating Needle,” in a four-page document justifying a “sole source” procurement. “This artist’s product is uniquely qualified,” the document explains. “Public art which will be presented in the new embassy should reflect the values of a predominantly Islamist country,” it says. (Like the Bible, the Qur’an uses the metaphor of a camel passing through the eye of a needle.)…

Steven Beyer of Beyer Projects, the art dealer for the project, said the government reached out. “They approached us,” he said in a phone interview. “We were, of course, quite surprised.”

The $400,000 price tag “is actually a very a reduced price for this sculpture,” he said. “There is an art market that makes these prices, and this is one of the most prominent American artists.”…

He points out that while some Americans may find it frivolous for the government to pay for art, others will find it important. “It depends on what part of the public you are in,” he said. “If you go to the museum and enjoy art and are moved by it, things cost what they cost.”

Breyer is correct in that things “cost what they cost.” If a billionaire wishes to spend his money on a giant camel, more power to him; none of us should utter a word of protest.

However, such flippancy obscures a central, very-important premise: we are paying for this. Things may “cost what they cost,” but when confronted with a $400,000 price tag, the Obama Administration should have laughed and refused the purchase.

Americans everywhere operate with a budget. When a family is in debt, they should not buy costly pieces of art. Similarly, with our nation being over $17 trillion in debt, we must cut spending and that includes gaudy artwork to adorn buildings in Pakistan.

Still, it amazes me that Democrats continue to posture as the crusaders of the common people.

Obama Going After Farting Cows

Obama Going After Farting Cows

In their ridiculous attempt to thwart climate change, the Obama Administration is cracking down on cow farts.

Methane released by domestic cattle is one of the largest producers of methane and much of it is released in the form of belching and farting. In fact, as much pollution as a car. So Obama wants to cut methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent over the next six years.

Experts suggest cows can release as much as 500 liters of methane a day through their burping and farting. The EPA labels beef and dairy cattle as “the largest emitters of methane.”

Since 1990, stricter pollution controls have led to a decrease in methane emissions from the oil and gas industry by 11 percent in the last 25 years.

The crackdown on methane is seen as an attack on those industries, claiming fracking emits massive amounts of methane.

“The EPA has been on a witch hunt to shut down hydraulic fracturing, and yet again the evidence doesn’t back up their excessive claims,” said Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter. “All too often we see the Agency using flawed science for political purposes, but this report – partially funded by environmental activists no less – shows EPA’s emissions estimates from hydraulic fracturing are way off.”

What, exactly, is President Obama’s plan to quell cow farts? A filter system? A cork?

Methane is an explosive gas, though. In January, a herd of dairy cows in a barn caused an explosion , practically lifting the roof of the barn.

March 31st Is Here, Originally Last Day Of ObamaCare Open Enrollment: New Report Shows 50 Percent Simply Ignoring White House Mandate

March 31st Is Here, Originally Last Day Of ObamaCare Open Enrollment: New Report Shows 50 Percent Simply Ignoring White House Mandate

Guess what? Today is March 31st…the last day of open enrollment for ObamaCare. Oh wait, I forgot that the Regime issued another delay. After all 38 of them, it is getting a bit crazy trying to keep them all in mind. Of course, all of these changes are also quite possibly unconstitutional. After all, once a law has been passed, no one has the right to make unilateral changes in that law without actually going back and receiving legislative approval to do so. The White House and Obama have never done this, not even once during all of there 38 changes.

This ‘law of the land’ that is also supposed to be the legacy legislation of our amazing community organizer in chief is nothing more than an expensive toy. Since there has been extension after delay after exemption there really is no reason to sign up for the thing…unless you are pretty desperate to obtain some type of healthcare, even sub par coverage like this.

The White House, the president, and the media has been on an unprecedented public relations campaign designed to raise awareness of ObamaCare and get people to sign up, especially those in the critical 18-34 year-old demographic. The original goal of the Regime was to have 7 million enrolled by the end of March, which was also the end of the open enrollment period. Of course, they quickly backed away from this number after all the problems upon launch, settling on a goal of 6 million people.

A new poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation has shown how poorly this campaign is going. They reveal that half of all people are choosing to remain uninsured. Furthermore, another 10 percent either don’t know about the mandate or simply refused to answer the question (presuming that it was still against the law to not buy insurance). In fact, nearly 60 percent of the uninsured are unaware of the sign-up deadline.

The interesting thing about all this is that the White House gave an entirely different reason for the delay in the end of open enrollment. Democratic Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid stated that the delay was because people were not technically savvy enough to use the internet to sign up for ObamaCare. Of course, he never mentioned the fact that people can mail or call in their enrollment if they cannot figure out the internet site.

Even under the ideal projections made by the Congressional Budget Office there will still be something in the neighborhood of 30 million Americans without health insurance. So, once again, we are seeing that the Obama Regime is well behind on their enrollment projections.

Despite Obama going on every TV show he can find, the young people are not flocking to ObamaCare, either. It has been estimated that only 20 to 25 percent of those enrolled fall into the 18-34 year-old demographic. According to the numbers cited above, it looks as if they are not alone, with many people choosing not to sign up for this coverage.

What do YOU think? Is ObamaCare a ‘good product’ that is ‘working as promised,’ according to recent statements from Obama? Have you signed up for your plan yet? Or will you take advantage of one of the many exemptions offered by the White House?
