McCain to Hispanic Chamber of Commerce: I’ll Fight for Amnesty as Long as ‘I’m Alive and Breathing’

In remarks to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) vowed to fight for amnesty as long as he is a breathing United States Senator.

McCain, according to BuzzFeed, also said that if comprehensive immigration reform passes, he would “make sure it is forever called the Edward M. Kennedy immigration bill.” McCain and the late Kennedy tried to pass the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill last decade, along with President George W. Bush. Conservatives halted the measure because it would have reduced the wages of American workers while not solving the illegal immigration problem.

The high-tech lobby, the Chamber of Commerce, and the same groups that wanted amnesty then are redoubling their efforts this year, which amnesty advocates like Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) have said may be the last chance for such legislation.

McCain’s former immigration aide, Becky Tallent, is now House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-OH) top aide on immigration. Boehner has said that he and President Barack Obama want to get immigration reform legislation “done” this year.

Other speakers throughout the week at Hispanic Chamber of Commerce events included Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), who said that amnesty legislation was inevitable, and Vice President Joe Biden, who stated that he believed illegal immigrants were “already American citizens.”

Last year, McCain vowed that amnesty advocates would try to get comprehensive immigration reform through Congress after the GOP primaries in 2014. That window seems to be somewhere in the next three months. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that if amnesty legislation passes this year, it would pass by June.

Why is Obama Admin Spending $400K on a Camel Sculpture in Pakistan?

Why is Obama Admin Spending $400K on a Camel Sculpture in Pakistan?

And Democrats deny that they have a spending problem…

Even though President Obama and his team routinely cozy up to the poor in an effort to appear as crusaders for the underclass, the president simply refuses to practice what he preaches. With extravagances more befitting a monarch than a president, President Obama and his family love lavish vacations and hosting extravagant parties with top celebrities.

Meanwhile, the White House remains shuttered from the public because the Obama Administration maintains that allowing tours would be too costly.

From websites that won’t work to billions of dollars being pumped to countries that hate us, President Obama is not only concerned with spending on himself, he loves to spend our money on a wide variety of things that remain useless to Americans.

Take, for example, the recent expenditure by the Obama Administration: a giant $400,000 sculpture of a camel staring at a needle.

Because it would be crazy to put that money towards, I don’t know, paying down the national debt?…

According to BuzzFeed:

The State Department is planning to spend $400,000 in taxpayer funds to buy a sculpture for the new American embassy being built in Islamabad, Pakistan, according to contracting records.

The work, by noted American artist John Baldessari, depicts a life-size white camel made of fiberglass staring in puzzlement at the eye of an oversize shiny needle — a not-so-subtle play on the New Testament phrase about the difficulty the wealthy have in entering the kingdom of heaven.

Officials explained the decision to purchase the piece of art, titled “Camel Contemplating Needle,” in a four-page document justifying a “sole source” procurement. “This artist’s product is uniquely qualified,” the document explains. “Public art which will be presented in the new embassy should reflect the values of a predominantly Islamist country,” it says. (Like the Bible, the Qur’an uses the metaphor of a camel passing through the eye of a needle.)…

Steven Beyer of Beyer Projects, the art dealer for the project, said the government reached out. “They approached us,” he said in a phone interview. “We were, of course, quite surprised.”

The $400,000 price tag “is actually a very a reduced price for this sculpture,” he said. “There is an art market that makes these prices, and this is one of the most prominent American artists.”…

He points out that while some Americans may find it frivolous for the government to pay for art, others will find it important. “It depends on what part of the public you are in,” he said. “If you go to the museum and enjoy art and are moved by it, things cost what they cost.”

Breyer is correct in that things “cost what they cost.” If a billionaire wishes to spend his money on a giant camel, more power to him; none of us should utter a word of protest.

However, such flippancy obscures a central, very-important premise: we are paying for this. Things may “cost what they cost,” but when confronted with a $400,000 price tag, the Obama Administration should have laughed and refused the purchase.

Americans everywhere operate with a budget. When a family is in debt, they should not buy costly pieces of art. Similarly, with our nation being over $17 trillion in debt, we must cut spending and that includes gaudy artwork to adorn buildings in Pakistan.

Still, it amazes me that Democrats continue to posture as the crusaders of the common people.

Obama Going After Farting Cows

Obama Going After Farting Cows

In their ridiculous attempt to thwart climate change, the Obama Administration is cracking down on cow farts.

Methane released by domestic cattle is one of the largest producers of methane and much of it is released in the form of belching and farting. In fact, as much pollution as a car. So Obama wants to cut methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent over the next six years.

Experts suggest cows can release as much as 500 liters of methane a day through their burping and farting. The EPA labels beef and dairy cattle as “the largest emitters of methane.”

Since 1990, stricter pollution controls have led to a decrease in methane emissions from the oil and gas industry by 11 percent in the last 25 years.

The crackdown on methane is seen as an attack on those industries, claiming fracking emits massive amounts of methane.

“The EPA has been on a witch hunt to shut down hydraulic fracturing, and yet again the evidence doesn’t back up their excessive claims,” said Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter. “All too often we see the Agency using flawed science for political purposes, but this report – partially funded by environmental activists no less – shows EPA’s emissions estimates from hydraulic fracturing are way off.”

What, exactly, is President Obama’s plan to quell cow farts? A filter system? A cork?

Methane is an explosive gas, though. In January, a herd of dairy cows in a barn caused an explosion , practically lifting the roof of the barn.

March 31st Is Here, Originally Last Day Of ObamaCare Open Enrollment: New Report Shows 50 Percent Simply Ignoring White House Mandate

March 31st Is Here, Originally Last Day Of ObamaCare Open Enrollment: New Report Shows 50 Percent Simply Ignoring White House Mandate

Guess what? Today is March 31st…the last day of open enrollment for ObamaCare. Oh wait, I forgot that the Regime issued another delay. After all 38 of them, it is getting a bit crazy trying to keep them all in mind. Of course, all of these changes are also quite possibly unconstitutional. After all, once a law has been passed, no one has the right to make unilateral changes in that law without actually going back and receiving legislative approval to do so. The White House and Obama have never done this, not even once during all of there 38 changes.

This ‘law of the land’ that is also supposed to be the legacy legislation of our amazing community organizer in chief is nothing more than an expensive toy. Since there has been extension after delay after exemption there really is no reason to sign up for the thing…unless you are pretty desperate to obtain some type of healthcare, even sub par coverage like this.

The White House, the president, and the media has been on an unprecedented public relations campaign designed to raise awareness of ObamaCare and get people to sign up, especially those in the critical 18-34 year-old demographic. The original goal of the Regime was to have 7 million enrolled by the end of March, which was also the end of the open enrollment period. Of course, they quickly backed away from this number after all the problems upon launch, settling on a goal of 6 million people.

A new poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation has shown how poorly this campaign is going. They reveal that half of all people are choosing to remain uninsured. Furthermore, another 10 percent either don’t know about the mandate or simply refused to answer the question (presuming that it was still against the law to not buy insurance). In fact, nearly 60 percent of the uninsured are unaware of the sign-up deadline.

The interesting thing about all this is that the White House gave an entirely different reason for the delay in the end of open enrollment. Democratic Senator and Majority Leader Harry Reid stated that the delay was because people were not technically savvy enough to use the internet to sign up for ObamaCare. Of course, he never mentioned the fact that people can mail or call in their enrollment if they cannot figure out the internet site.

Even under the ideal projections made by the Congressional Budget Office there will still be something in the neighborhood of 30 million Americans without health insurance. So, once again, we are seeing that the Obama Regime is well behind on their enrollment projections.

Despite Obama going on every TV show he can find, the young people are not flocking to ObamaCare, either. It has been estimated that only 20 to 25 percent of those enrolled fall into the 18-34 year-old demographic. According to the numbers cited above, it looks as if they are not alone, with many people choosing not to sign up for this coverage.

What do YOU think? Is ObamaCare a ‘good product’ that is ‘working as promised,’ according to recent statements from Obama? Have you signed up for your plan yet? Or will you take advantage of one of the many exemptions offered by the White House?

New York Post Offers Harsh, Accurate Criticism Of Obama’s Presidency: Says In Six Years As President, Nothing Has Worked Or Been Delivered As Promised

New York Post Offers Harsh, Accurate Criticism Of Obama’s Presidency: Says In Six Years As President, Nothing Has Worked Or Been Delivered As Promised

If you are as sick of having Obama as our president as I am, then you should definitely check out the piece written by Michael Goodwin over at the New York Post. This is a pretty damning, but overall very accurate and articulate, summary of Obama and his time in office.

Do you remember way back to candidate Obama? Myself, and a lot of other conservatives thought that he was a poor choice simply because he had not accomplished anything worthwhile. He had never run a company, never had to meet payroll, deal with government regulations, and even his time in political office had accomplished very little. In fact, he used each successive office as a platform and springboard to run for the next highest position.

Now Obama is into his sixth year as president. Yet, he still continues to blame Bush for his own failings. This is rather obscene at this point, and hiding behind Bush or racism shows a lack of character. Nothing Obama has done or put into place has worked as promised, either. In fact, given his record, there is really no reason to think that anything will get better. His flippant remarks like the fact that he worries about a ‘nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan’ shows how his own leadership is pretty much directionless…this should be something that a president is working behind the scenes with his team to avoid.

Let’s take a look at just some of how Obama has failed this country over the years…and how he plans to multiply these failures over the course of his last two years. For starters, we are seeing global flashpoints and trouble areas multiply faster than at any time in the past 25 years. The Middle East is gearing up again, Russia is becoming increasingly militant, and China is flexing their muscle and causing problems for their Asian neighbors. So, Obama decides to slash the military as the world grows more and more dangerously unstable.

Government programs are continuing to lose hundreds of billions of dollars to fraud, waste, and abuse. Yet, the Obama Regime chooses to ignore this and continues focusing on cutting things like defense spending. At the same time, they also seek to expand the welfare state.

Not to mention Obama’s singular disaster, ObamaCare. Pushed through a Democratically controlled congress without one single Republican vote, this has become the ultimate domestic expression of Obama’s ineptitude. This was supposed to ‘fix’ healthcare, but now enjoys only a 26 percent approval rating. The White House has even given up defending the program and now just issues delays or changes to key aspects as they prove to be impossible to implement or would lead to more political fallout. The White House even said there would be no delay for the end of open enrollment, then they issue a delay, despite their own previous estimation that such an action would be unconstitutional.

There are so many problems with ObamaCare we could write a book about them. The Regime cannot even say for sure how many of those enrolled have actually paid for the insurance. The online exchange still cannot accurately transfer enrollment information to the insurance companies.

During his time as our leader, Obama has managed to alienate just about everyone. He is provoking both fury and ridicule as he bullies his domestic critics while shrinking like a wimp from adversaries around the globe. And all the while, the media here continues trying to prop him up, despite being just an empty suit. Remember Clint Eastwood and his statement about an empty chair? Seems more true today than ever before. Granted, I was not a big fan of Romney or McCain, but clearly either one of them would have been a much better than Obama. At least they would have been men of substance.

What do YOU think? How do you see Obama and his time in office? Has he helped or hurt the country? In what ways? Are you looking forward to the end of this reign of terror in two more years?

Report: Obama Admin Released Tens of Thousands of Illegal Immigrant Criminals

Report: Obama Admin Released Tens of Thousands of Illegal Immigrant Criminals

President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows.

The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. “The criminal alien releases typically occur without formal notice to local law enforcement agencies and victims,” CIS’s Jessica Vaughan, the report’s author, added.

By “criminal,” ICE means people who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony that is not a traffic violation. For instance, traffic violations like Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or even vehicular manslaughter do not count toward this description of “criminal alien.” As for the definition of “alien,” ICE mostly means illegal aliens, though some are legal aliens when they are considered deportable legal aliens—which is possible for legal immigrants who have committed a serious crime, like a felony.

The documents also show ICE only deported a small fraction of the aliens they encountered overall.

“In 2013, ICE targeted only 195,000, or 25 percent, out of 722,000 potentially deportable aliens they encountered,” CIS’s Vaughan wrote. “Most of these aliens came to ICE’s attention after incarceration for a local arrest.”

This report comes out on the heels of a report from the office of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) last week which found that only .08 percent of the aliens deported in 2013 were not serial immigration law violators or convicted of serious crimes.

In response to these findings from CIS that follow up on his office’s report last week, Sessions said immigration law in America has essentially ceased to exist.

“The preponderance of the evidence demonstrates that immigration enforcement in America has collapsed,” Sessions said. “Even those with criminal convictions are being released. DHS is a department in crisis. Secretary [Jeh] Johnson must reject the President’s demands to weaken enforcement further and tell him that his duty, and his officers’ duty, is to enforce the law – not break it. As Homeland Secretary, Mr. Johnson is tasked with ensuring the public safety and the rule of law. But Secretary Johnson is not meeting these duties.”

The CIS report also contains a breakdown per city of percentages of criminal aliens who were released back into the population. San Antonio’s 79 percent is the highest, where ICE encountered 36,228 criminal aliens and released 28,680 back into the general population in 2013. New York City’s 71 percent is next, where ICE agents encountered 7,571 criminal aliens and released 5,391 of them. Washington, D.C. follows that, with ICE agents encountering 8,688 criminal aliens and releasing 64 percent, or 5,558, of them into the public. Other cities with high percentages include Salt Lake City, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Newark, and Buffalo. Notably, many of these cities are not in border states, which means visa overstays and illegal aliens who crossed the border but migrated further inward are as much a problem as the actual U.S.-Mexico border in terms of stopping the flow and enforcing the law.

“These findings raise further alarm over the Obama administration’s pending review of deportation practices, which reportedly may further expand the administration’s abuse of ‘prosecutorial discretion,’” CIS’s Vaughan wrote. “Interior enforcement activity has already declined 40 percent since the imposition of “prosecutorial discretion” policies in 2011. Rather than accelerating this decline, there is an urgent need to review and reverse the public safety and fiscal harm cause by the president’s policies.”

Sessions echoed Vaughan’s concerns, saying the lack of enforcement for immigration laws further hurts the ability of American citizens to obtain employment.

“American citizens have a legal and moral right to the protections our immigration laws afford – at the border, the interior and the workplace,” Sessions said. “The administration has stripped these protections and adopted a government policy that encourages new arrivals to enter illegally or overstay visas by advertising immunity from future enforcement. Comments from top Administration officials, such as Attorney General Holder’s claim that amnesty is a civil right, or Vice President Biden’s claim that those here illegally are all US citizens (apparently including someone whose visa expired yesterday), demonstrate the administration’s increasing belief in an open borders policy the American public has always rejected.”

Revealed: RSA offered more than one NSA-designed security tool

Revealed: RSA offered more than one NSA-designed security tool

A team of researchers has found that the American security firm RSA implemented two different encryption tools built by the National Security Agency, both of which were designed to be exploited easily for surveillance purposes.

According to Reuters, the revelation was made by professors from multiple universities – including the University of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois – and indicates the NSA was able to infiltrate the company’s security systems even more than previously believed.

Last year, Reuters also reported that RSA entered into a clandestine deal with the NSA, in which it was given $10 million in exchange for promoting the use of weak security systems and encryption services. At the time, it was revealed that RSA made a specific algorithm – Dual Elliptic Curve DRGB – the default option in its BSAFE security toolkit.

The latest discovery by university researchers alleges that RSA also implemented a second security tool, known as the “Extended Random” extension. As noted by Reuters, this tool was not used very often compared to others, but it “could help crack a version of RSA’s Dual Elliptic Curve software tens of thousands of times faster” than others.

“Adding it doesn’t seem to provide any security benefits that we can figure out,” Thomas Ristenpart, one of the researchers at the University of Wisconsin, told the news service.

When contacted about the new information, RSA did not deny the allegation that it incorporated Extended Random into its portfolio of security tools. It did state, however, that the tool was removed sometime in the past six months, and that it has done nothing to deliberately weaken its security software.

The company also did not comment on whether or not it was paid to offer the tool as an option alongside other programs.

“We could have been more skeptical of NSA’s intentions,” RSA Chief Technologist Sam Curry said to Reuters. “We trusted them because they are charged with security for the U.S. government and U.S. critical infrastructure.”

In December, RSA also released a statement denying it was hiding its involvement with the NSA, denying that it entered into a secret contract to make Dual EC the default algorithm, but notably it did not push back against the claim that it accepted money to do so.

As RT noted then, Microsoft researched had exposed several weaknesses in the code back in 2007, but RSA continued to list Dual EC as the default choice for another five years. Only after Edward Snowden leaked documents revealing the NSA’s campaign to embed weak encryption services into security software did the company remove the algorithm.

The situation also represents a notable shift for the company, which established closer ties to the government after the 2001 World Trade Center attacks and made it more susceptible to federal influence. During the Clinton era, RSA successfully defended against government attempts to embed chips in computers that would allow it to easily avoid encryption protections.
